After landing on the venue's helipad, you will be met by a team of 13 elephants donning full ceremonial dress. Like royalty, you will be carried by the majestic creatures down the grand stone elephant pathway to the Palace of the Lost City, where your guests await your arrival. |
Conjured out of African myth, The Palace of the Lost City is an African Fantasy world of incredible jungle, cliff-tumbling gardens, sparkling streams, waterfalls and shimmering pools.
Located adjacent to Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa's third largest game park, the palace is a fairytale residence, built with unbelievable attention to detail, including exquisite mosaics, frescoes and hand-painted ceilings depicting South Africa's wildlife and culture. |
Legend tells us that it was built as the royal residence for the Prince of a gentle, ancient tribe, who found the splendid valley after fleeing barbarians of the Northern deserts. The legend of this Palace and its surrounding Lost City has echoed in the souls of adventurers for centuries. |
Take your time and explore the Palace's grand courtyards and fountains as you make your way to the open-air poolside dining area, where pavilions and canopies dot the grounds and native gardens surround you. Unwind as audience member KimD entertains and amazes guests with her daring fire-stick twirling. Enjoy open bar service throughout the evening at the Observatory bar featuring specialty cocktails such as:
South African Sundowner, A mixture of Cape of Good Hope Brandy, Van der Hum liqueur, lemon and orange juices
Mainstay, South African cane spirits blended with tropical fruit juices
Castle Beer, South Africa's own favorite beer

Surrounded by a real African jungle and indigenous potted plants dotting the area around the pool, guests will find an elegant jungle mood present in the decor. Rectangular appetizer buffet tables, covered in iridescent cocoa tablecloths, each have two towering floral arrangements of bamboo and yellow orchids spaced one foot apart in the center. Two lime green glass tribal mask candles guard the space between the flowers, facing each side of the table. Four votive candles and black stones scattered with glittering Swarovski rhinestones surround the masks.
For dinner, guests will be seated in cushioned, bamboo-backed chairs at large, round tables of ten. Each table is dressed in a cocoa iridescent taffeta cloth with a pleated edge over a cocoa iridescent base cloth, and coordinating napkins. The centerpiece of each table is an exotic floral arrangement in a vase constructed of jungle foliage, set on a round mirror tile. Nestled in black stones that surround the floral arrangement are clear glass votive candles with pale lime candles. Swarovski rhinestones that twinkle like African diamonds in the candlelight are scattered among the stones.
Place settings are in ivory, gold-rimmed china on gold-edged chargers with gold flatware and crystal stemware. |

After cocktails and appetizers, you will be treated to a South African 4-course sit-down dinner, where you will be entertained by the musical composer of the Disney classic and Broadway show, The Lion King, Grammy and Tony award winner Sir Elton John!
Performing on a special floating stage in the Palace's pool, Sir Elton will regale the audience with favorite songs from The Lion King, Tarzan, and The Jungle Book.
As a special nod to our reality show host judges, we've secured the services of chef Harold Dieterle, winner of Bravo's reality show Top Chef, to oversee the kitchen staff, and to make sure that our guests have a dining experience to remember.
